Subject: My thoughts about L&D

Ok first of all, i must say i am from Venezuela, so sorry my grammar in case i have mistakes.
I am really happy there's a site and more importantly a forum to discuss this movie over, cause these are the kinds of movies people need to discuss to get over the bad feelings they left. I thought this was a really sad movie, but strangely enough i found it really suitable.
I think the love between Paulie and Tory is a conflict between reflexions and reality. I know what feels like to dream with the one you love, and then come back to reality and hit rock botton at founding out that everything is not so perfect. And dreams are not always enough. I believe Tory loved Paulie just as much as Paulie did, but she (being a teenager after all) got really confused and started questioning herself, what she wanted for her life, and what she wanted is what got them apart, she wanted acceptation, aproval of society and all of us know just how difficult that is to achieve when you love somebody of your own sex. I think paulie is right cause she believes the soul has no gender, and maybe she kills herself at the end of the movie for the lack of love, not from tory but from herself, she didnt love herself at all, and she confused love with necessity, and sadly enough she couldnt live without Tory, cause for her a couple was not to share moments but to fill an emptiness that you alone can only repair... Tory didnt love Jake, and how could i know that? cause she always proyected herself, saying exactly the opossite, "I love jake" "he is so good in bed", it's like talking to her in the mirror and trying to make herself believe that, 5 WORDS: NOTHING IS WHAT IT SEEMS!,She was just being a reflexion of what she wanted. she wasnt weak at all, she was even more stronger than paulie, just watching the one you love being hurt is not so easy, but she tried to live as she could cause her mobile was the acceptance she wanted, and facing her feelings towards Paulie just got out of her hands. I can still continue talking but you must be tired! ;) that was my humble opinion...
