I sure hope you do know that Pop-success sometimes is closed into a circle of powerfull people[$]..I don't know what kind of Pop are you willing to work on, but if you want to create a boys-band, or some project like those projects that are out there and SUCK (like Britney Spears, that idiot ex-Take That or Ex-N'sync Jason Timberlake or some shit like that, and all those freakin'assholes stupid-rubbish 'HipHop' stars that have nothing to do with the REAL Hip Hop - Ice-T, Ice Cube, Cypress Hill and so many others - I donno), please know that the ones that are on the top, are carefully selected by somekind'a jury,how d'ya think Christinna Aguilera went to the top? Or Shakira and so many others? Cuz they've given something to those jurers, like a 'payment' to get there.
Unless you've got a really neat Pop-project going on that is out of that circle, then you may get the chance for success, still, in another restricted way.
To have success nowadays, is very hard. Sometimes we should look at the music as something we like, an hobbie maybe. I love music, and i also would like to earn my dues with it, but I know that what I do won't sell a record out there, but I still try, so keep fighting for your purpose, but keep in mind: it's gonna be a hard fight, get ready to fall down many times, but always get yerself back up!!
