Subject: Dr. Atkins state of health when he died

Here is a story I found on MSNBC on Dr. Atkins. Tell me what you think?

Weight-loss guru may have been obese when he died
Nutrition expert Dr. Robert Atkins, creator of the high-protein, low-carb "Atkins Diet," may have had heart disease when he died.

MSNBC staff and news service reports
Updated: 3:15 p.m. ET Feb. 10, 2004 Diet guru Dr. Robert Atkins, who died last year after a fall in New York, had a history of heart disease and weighed 258 pounds at the time of his death, a newspaper reported Tuesday. Atkins' popular diet stresses people should eat high-protein meats and cheese over carbohydrates in order to lose weight.

Before his death, he had suffered a heart attack, congestive heart failure and hypertension, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing a report by the city medical examiner.

At 258 pounds, the 6-foot-tall Atkins would have qualified as obese, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s body-mass index calculator.

Atkins, 72, died last April after suffering a head injury in a fall on an icy city street.

Not a pretty story is it? Look at the PowerQuote for Wednesday. The last part of the powerquote scripture says.."but he who chases fantasies lacks judgement."

Lack of judgement usually has a very nasty end result as Dr. Atkins unfortunately found out. SO what about you?

Have a strong and healthy day.
