I find it telling that value judgements seem to garner more attention than the district's poor proficiency scores. In periods of economic crises, the fragility of extractive systems decades in the making becomes apparent (it takes some financial engineering to build and maintain a 'system' with such a high cost relative to average family income). Unfortunately, the solid foundation of the nuclear family is no longer there to rebuild on if it implodes. The ability to print infinite $s is no safeguard against moral bankruptcy...whodathunk.
