Who remembers when CBDG money was used during the McGrane administration, to pay pilot loans on the waterfront? This city is, and has been rife with corruption, and cronyism for over 50years. Nothing new here, same ole putting lipstick on a 🐷. New Commissioner, Judges, Chiefs, and still same problems. I wish the new Police additions gods speed. God knows they're going to need it. Come budget time, can't blame the new PD leaders for the OT the council created, by laying off public safety personnel, and then still cry about overtime. Watch out new fire chief,trains a coming on your track!!! Has anyone notice how many major department heads turn over here? Fire Chiefs, Police Chiefs, firefighters and police leaving for work in other municipalities because we can't get our shit together. Newburgh is like a drug addict who keeps being enabled by a loving family who want to see their own succeed despite having a serious flaw. That's the voters, who care, vote clowns in, who have agendas and no real world experience in morality. Sorry but not sorry for the rant, but look at this mess. This started from a thread of being in the dark on city matters of importance. I.e, Manager's salary, Police Chief position from part-time posting, to what it looks like now is a full-time position. That's over 400k I'm salaries and benefits alone just to the department heads! So hopefully a plan is considered, that will focus on retention and policy, that will work for all. Without proper staffing, overtime is inevitable. That's business management 101. No more matrix studies from firms to assess and give report on department defeciencies, we know what's wrong, stope blaming others council, and be accountable, stop the blame game. When this plan for a new day in Newburgh goes to hell, who will they blame? That's a serious question.
