But then again, actions speak louder than words. To think that the residents of Newburgh view this City with the same rose-colored glasses as she does is an insult to us all. She would rather we all lied about how affordable, safe and lovely everything is here, than tell the truth about the lack of leadership, ineptitudes in budgeting and pollyanna thinking that has gotten us into this mess in the first place.

Some people are sheep, always will be sheep, and need to be led to the pasture and back. I refuse the patronage, as do most of the people who attended last night's CC meeting.

It's time for some real leaders with original ideas to be elected. Christine Bello's idea of a Public Safety Department that assesses 'fees' to non-profits was a great one. Let's see if Regina gets behind that. Oh, I forgot, the Police and Fire Dept. aren't in charge of planting flowers. Not much hope of her supporting something that beneficial.
