Don't worry. It's just paint, Baker says. He and Newburgh artist Bryan Guglielmi will scrape off the problem areas and fix them. Shouldn't take longer than a week and a half. This was part of the plan from the beginning.

Baker said he insisted on a maintenance clause in his contract with nonprofit Trestle Inc. because the treatment done by a third party to prepare the wall for painting allows a small amount of moisture to soak in behind the paint.

A different treatment that would have essentially built a new wall in front of the old one would have cost too much, Baker said, so regular maintenance will have to be part of the project.
