Not so right, but the city's population wasn't as concerned with transparency when home ownership and businesses were increasing, neighborhoods were improving, taxes were relatively affordable, and the government was smaller in size and run professionally. Things weren't perfect by any means, but that's what was going on when Regina fired Harry... Twice.

And not that it matters that much at this point, but to set the record straight, some of your list of "Porr's machine" were in reality Carey's machine. Yes, they were.
