Regina didn't get her usual 400 faithful votes and wasn't the favorite. Given the city's circumstances, this was Sal's and Mary Ann's election to win, and it was lost due to poor campaigning. People can blame the electorate all they want, but from looking at the numbers, there were 200 votes out there that could have been won easily, and would have made the difference. You can't win an election from a pizza parlor or from taking the quiet high road. You win by fighting. I didn't see anyone willing to fight.
