If you don't support the BMX races in Downing Park this weekend, you may want to go to Storm King Art Center today and hear David Schuyler, biographer of AJ Downing, give a lecture on the namesake of Newburgh's park and the meaning of Landscape Art, yesterday and today. It seems the people of Newburgh should be there, as this is one way to learn about what Downing Park's intentions and meanings are, as created by Olmsted, in memory of Downing.
