The police are under contract and are in a union. They deserve pay for their services. If a police officer wants to volunteer free time, he cannot do it within the context of his job with uniform and gun and gun in hand. Get real!

This is a lot of silly talk to justify an illegal event scheduled for an important and vulnerable historic park.
