"When discussing housing, he would like to see amendments to the city code that would allow for accessory dwelling units and microunits for residents to live in."

Said another way, the city would like its vig on the unofficial "accessory dwelling units". I'm sure the residents will be tripping over themselves to vote an additional surcharge on themselves. Roll out the welcoming community mat to people accustomed to owning little to nothing while driving general living standards down via "micro-housing", the more people used to having nothing the more it becomes the "norm". Combine this with climate change fear mongering and they're convincing the better off "progressives" to sacrifice their living standards "for the greater good". (Btw, the city already uses software that enables cross department communication and collaboration. Touted a few years back as a means to help mitigate the safety concerns associated with illegal housing spaces and the skirting of the rental registery, the software enables a guesstimate of how many and where people live in the city via water usage and other metrics in real time.) Albany just penned a letter to the fed administration asking for monies to mitigate the unenforced U.S. migration policy. The monies is to be used for permanent housing, employment, healthcare and education. Riddle me this...how is building an unskilled population self-sustainable? Tptb want their slums back, more dollars from the warehousing people churn than from solely relying on a sustainable balanced budget.
