Because apostles of a government whose messaging caters to a following that appoints jurisdiction of "safe spaces" for whining about the digressions of others while accepting the 'shrinkflation' of their living standards as the new norm are innately cheerful? That is some serious cognitive dissonance or straight up bull shit. If someone wants to wants to drop their own $60K into a living space have at it. I'm an advocate of being in charge of yourself, no one else. No group of people has a right to dictate to another (that includes how one's money is spent). It follows the teachings of Jesus, a very anti-guv guy, and it's a hard path to walk. It's why many take a hard detour, opting for the path of government guidance...with little to no resistance as to be easily persuaded by fear, the motivator and language of evil. What the government messiah is not going to message out loud is that the current state of the ageing economy requires deficit spending to support itself. It's the math. As increased deficit spending is inflationary, the issue is compounded. In effect, additional monies to fund the ageing economy is disproportionately falling on younger generations whose incomes are not keeping pace. Enter "MUs" into the framework of society...and "ESG", "DEI" etc.. It's the result of "policy", not happenstance or ignorance.
Tptb seen it coming decades ago and determined to paper over it. It was a slow creep initially. Still, it had a mtbf...again, it's the math. Cumulating in the '07 GFC, then more on to the '19 Repo Crisis which just happened to segue into a global "pandemic" prompting more money to be printed into existance in a year or so and counting than all of its creation. Here we are. The good news is that a more sustainable civilized 'way' is through engaging one another on an individual basis via a mutual voluntary exchange first & foremost to government and knowing the parameters.
