The cavity underneath would have to filled in first...there are locker room facilities that were built below the original pool. I'd assume their still present existance would suggest that the original pool wasn't demolished. Rec Dept. head at the time, Derrick Stanton communicated to the city council that both he and the city engineer recommend the pool be inspected asap as its condition is suspect, leaking, cracked foundation, etc..
