Most of the people on the council are hardly policy experts. The 20 something year old Councilmember at least actually works and studies government and reads. Now she may not be the most liked person in government but she is hardly the worst. The 30 year old candidate has been working in politics in some shape or form longer than most people running for office. All the candidates are all wet behind the ears in some way or another.. let’s also not forget that We have a preacher cop who is saying he is the public safety candidate while throwing parties that lead to shootings. Nothing says safety like late night parties and shootings. You have an incumbent who can barely write his name and once even told an officer he would run him over … you have a former councilwoman who spent most of her time fighting and yelling at everyone and was always a lunatic. Some of the past council members have regularly engaged in some ridiculous bickering and petty squabbles. Older is not better. Mehar and Luna might be younger but they have both done more work in the city than basically any of the others candidates. And at least they don’t go around threatening the lives of their neighbors. If anything, their temperaments are worlds better. Luna and Mehar offer the best options for our city government.
