As per the article, I didn't draw a cast of blame on single parents, nor was that my intention to convey in my message. I think the premise to be made is that having two parents -more often than not- affords the child an advantage against the game of life..."to beat the odds" as there are no guarantees either way. It's not to suggest a parent and , more to the point, child remain and suffer the immediate consequences of an abusive or neglective "home" environment come what may. The growing trend for single parent households and its possible negative ramifications reflecting on society as a whole going forward was well noted in the 1980's and into 1990's. I think absentee "parentING" goes back further to when both parents had to be employed in order to "pay the bills". My point being...absentee parenting in the wholistic sense leaves a void and creates a vaccuum that will be filled one way or another, for better or worse. You exemplify the "better". My point of contention is the "worse" as change and exploitation happens on the margins. I think the position of 'public education' has crossed into that realm. It's not organic, it's been a slow creep and it's been working in lockstep with the other institutional systems, i.e. healthcare, tax. There is no better way to wrestle control than to break cohesion, separate the other into multiple parts. So, as per the edu 'program', I ask how many are o.k. with public education's position of parent by proxy as it relates to the normalization of "identities"?
-Here's a thought experiment...consider the normalization of A.I. and where it's headed. Imo, it's a 180 of what it's being presented as, the "sell" is key in the normalization process. Another tool is to polarize contrarian opinions. Sounds familiar, yes? It's not about artificial machine being "intelligent", it's about human intelligence being "artificial". It's happening, in real-time and it's being welcomed.
