There are two candidates on the Working Families line; Mehar (City Council) & Harvey (Mayor) which is an easy lift considering there are only 92 WF party members in the city of Newburgh.

Mehar is backed by BIG money. She is a puppet of Monteverde & Karen Mejia (who through her husband) is well connected and well funded by the Ford Foundation whose control in Newburgh politics is long and fraught.

As of now (still waiting for affidavit and absentee ballots), approximately 779 (1,558 votes thus far divided by half) people voted. Currently, Newburgh has approximately 6,500 active registered voters which means roughly 12% of that population voted yesterday.
