There was only a Democratic primary in Newburgh yesterday. According to the Orange County Board of Election website, there were 7062 registered Democrats in the City of Newburgh. I don’t know if there were actually more or less than that on June 27, 2023. There were a total of 1558 votes cast in the councilmanic primary election yesterday. Assuming that every voter voted for two candidates, there were 779 voters, or approximately 11% of eligible voters. That is a good approximation, and as I said, pathetic.
