First of all, these ranking things are bullshit. If it was as "dangerous" as they claim, then why is real estate demanding ridiculously over-inflated prices for gut job buildings? Close to 30,000 choose to live here because someone has a gun to their head? This is all part of the consistent messaging to keep Newburgh a resource for all the non-profit CEO's to take their huge salaries elsewhere and bleed dry a city that is vulnerable. The only solution would be to run these carpetbagging non-profits out of the city. They are the crux of the problem. Also, the lack of cops is the problem? If someone can find it, please point me to a study that shows that spending more money for or hiring more cops does anything to improve public safety. Poverty is a choice by our city leaders. It's what keeps Harvey in his job as an idiot teacher, it's what keeps Monteverde's employer in business, it's what keeps Omari employed- and builds a wall around a city manager who still doesn't live here(against the charter the councilpeople swore to uphold- must be they crossed their fingers while being sworn in) and taking the city for all he can muster for himself.
