The decimated area isn't near the waste treatment plant, but further north. the paved area is where turtles laid their eggs in spring. the shoreline trees were bird habitat as well as tide protection. other trees were shade. a few homeless people that sheltered in a grove are now out in the open.
whatever the purpose, no one seems to know. But environmental practices were ignored, alternatives weren't considered, proper notifications weren't made (this is a state LWRP area) and this work would never have been approved.

Newburgh, prides itself on getting grants because it's an "environmental Justice" area. then turns around and defies every best practice. tax dollars at work.
Grice bragging that he's on the Quassaick Creek committee so i guess that makes him an environmental expert?

this only feeds rumors that because development plans are in the works, the council attitude is 'who cares'.
