During JAM's regimen she dipped into the General Fund and went on a spending spree, anticipating receiving at a later date the $1.7 Million. Thereafter, the Eco. & Planning Dept. utilized the monies for infrastucture and development of the West St. project. Meanwhile, in order for the city to receive money, the Federal government required follow-up documentation. This was never addressed, it was tossed around on the 3rd floor as a hot potato. Since the city could not and would not produce the required paperwork, the federal government decided the city was not worthy of this money. This has placed the city in dire financial situation. To the city workers who were present at Monday's council meeting, open your eyes. Due to mismanagement and incompetence of your fellow workers in city hall, as well as the Mayor and city manager, you will probably be on the unemployment line, and to all the residents expect a MAJOR tax increase.
