Subject: City in crisis?!?

Has anyone noticed the alarming uptick in crime in Newburgh in the last week? Murders, stabbings. Suppression of crime, public safety cutbacks have brought us to this point. Both Police and Fire departments are operating at historic lows in Newburgh! The council has put safety in peril under the guise of expenditure reduction. Grice speaks of investing in codes enforcement will bring down fire calls, and Police department pt officers, and trimmed patrol units have resulted in chaos. Warmer weather approaches, and us long time residents know what that brings. God have mercy on us!! Harvey and the City Manager have tauted the banner of reform, and city on the rise, fiscally, and socially. That however is turning to be untrue. The addressing of the systemic failures have been covered up with talk and pseudo hype. The underlying current of neglect, and government mismanagement of resources, and personnel have led us to this point. During the pandemic, government money was doled out to reinforce public safety, and we used the monies, to restructure police and fire into top heavy management, and no boots on the ground. Look at what's happening! This election period, I hope this oversight is translated into votes, to rid us of the heavy baggage, that has brought on council raises, higher taxes,public information censorship and a virtual dictatorship in the city. Look whose at the helm, who is always talking, Harvey, Grice, and unitelligible Shakur. This is a city in crisis, propped up with false narratives,and false profesying politicians. The pathetic author Mayor, and his NECSD cronies (Grice) have manipulated the public into thinking we are on the rise to economic progression. We however, are on the decline, and now it is evident with what is transpiring in the city as of late. Several news publications, including comments from D.A. Hoovler have expressed the lack of communication with the community, and county partners. Foil requests going unanswered, until the problem was made aware in news outlets. Now murder, and subsequent crime is( and has, been)on the rise.
What spin are the talking heads in city government going to say, to right this wrong we've known about since their uninsightful idiotic decisions. Current contract negotiations are underway for the city manager, with no public input being voiced! They hold public comments for everything else, why not on what we expect from our city manager? A town hall meeting needs to happen, so we can face those charged with doing the people's business, and ask them directly, without council suppression, (Harvey) when the tough questions are asked about real situations. Excuse me for this long rant, but it is necessary for me to express, my displeasure, and distain for certain people, and elements of the city government that has brought us to this point. Hopefully the city want be oppressed, due to being suppressed. God bless us all.
