Yup...time for all of us concerned citizens to start attending Council Meetings IN PERSON. Community needs to see and hear us. Constituents, Board, Commission members, staff -- afraid to ask questions, not sure who to ask, don't know who to trust afraid of vindictive government. Right now, public comments at Council sessions are all about social issues that can't be anwered at Council level.....nice distraction from the real core stuff. like "what is the job description of Vetter's Chief of Staff, who is HR, what's his salary, who reports to him?" "what is tallie carter's job description/salary, show us an organizational map with every city employee, when do any council members meed with constituents ; what is the communication policy? on returning phone calls? responding to emails? 24 hours? 2 weeks? never? is the Rental registration file current? When is community aggregation starting? Who is the official Harbor Master? blah blah blah. add to my spreadsheet.

you need thick skin to dive into the fray. there are pockets of groups all around the city complaining about this administration. time to suit up and show up and sit through those dreadful meetings for the "General Comments From the Public" -- and then maybe demand a Town Hall. speak out.

it is a tried and true plan of action that critical mass gets their attention. Does anyone remember when we even got the Council to reverse their votes on issues (sale of the Court House)! see you all there. : )
