The math is more complcated. The whole economy runs on credit. What is collected as taxes is a skim on that credit. The U.S. Treasury is now running a Trillion dollar tab on the interest alone on the credit the fed reserve extends it. Yet, consumers are paying how much in interest? Reminder, there was a 'mandated' small business sector culling in the millions with almost zero resistance. Why? All it it took to distract the masses was a few grand in stimmies and various financial moratoriums...and Amazon. Where's was the outcry over "tax revenue" shortages when the small landlords, small businesses and individuals were told to go pound sand, meanwhile the big corporations and institutions carried on. Well, now there is a reversion to the mean. A huge credit crunch is gaining momentum as the life blood of the consumer economy is drying up at the fastest pace on record. The CRE is rolling over. Bankruptcies are spiking. New unemployment claims spiked. The mainstream feeds aren't telling you this. Are the local money handlers telling you this? Surely the municipal beancounters are aware of these red flags and the "ripple effects"? What's their plan? Is there a plan? More "tax revenues"? There are two considerations at play here. It's an indication of the 'mandated' small business sector culling never ended? The safety departments' concerns are more relevant than most want to admit, e.g. lower Broadway construction cutting a main access in and out of the city?
Regardless. No credit, no business, no economy... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fOzoQJ1EP1w
