It's very disturbing that the city is banking on cannabis as a revenue generator, instead of investing in it's own workforce. I.E., public safety. The illuminated festival was cancelled in part due to the downsize and defundment of public safety. Not enough police, or fire personnel to effectively handle the festival, and keep its residents and visitors safe. The impoverished thinking of some of the council has led us to this point of no return, on investment and political future. For our sakes, I pray that these politicians right this ship enough not to run aground. Seems like some of the council is just setting themselves up to line their pockets when their political careers are over. Sometimes the grass is greener on the other side of the river 😉
