I am sort of confused by your comment. Do you like or dislike the preacher ? Or do you just hate everyone that is running ? I actually don’t disagree with you at all about the conflict of interest or even the perceived conflict of interest. And actually agree with everything else you said with the exception about why I think knowing policy matters. To your first point, The preacher’s major issue is that he is the figure of his church and it pays no taxes and they will indeed have to come before the city for different matters. It’s not a great look. It’s not a new thing, but I recognize that it’s not ideal by no means. He still seems the most balanced of the candidates.

As for your comments about why knowing policy matters. Perhaps it’s my own preference. I would like someone who can not only read and understand laws, but that that also can digest it, make sense of it, but ideally also contribute to it and hell, maybe even expand on it. I have seen only those two as being able to do that. Most people who run for office don’t know or understand policy. Hell, some times I feel asking to have our politicians read something seems like a big ask.
