While having diverse voices would certainly not be the worst idea. The Republican choices are far from inspiring or captivating. And let’s just be a tad realistic, they don’t stand a chance in hell of winning. Omari and Gay Lee have a better chance of winning and that’s just a plain and simple fact. wasting our time or energy even remotely embracing that fantasy is delusional at best. Simple math will show the numbers aren’t there. Newburgh is extremely blue.

And if math and logic is not enough reason… let’s just not forget that it’s the republicans that have dumped every challenging person from all over the county in our lap for decades. We wonder why we have high crime…? Highest number of sex offenders? Highest number of homeless… it’s republicans. The last thing we need are more republicans to “help Newburgh” their idea of make newburgh great again is a city that is not the city with the diversity it has today.

We have moderate democrats that are middle of the road and that can respond to the challenges of both sides. We just have to make sure we don’t hire some far leftist dem saying they want to defund the police or someone like Omari who threatens to run police over.
