I’m afraid you’re right. The city should view this as a wake-up call and have the administration sit down with the county so that both may air their grievances and try to have a positive relationship with each other. The Council will likely just sit back though and let Mr. Venning have this adversarial relationship with the county. If the County then follows through and moves the offices it will get interesting. The council will have many residents screaming at them that they now have to take buses into the Town of Newburgh to receive services. Will the council members then follow through with their promises of transparency and say “Sorry, but we decided to have an adversarial relationship with the county, and this is the result?”. You bet they won’t. It will be CYA time for them. What a lack of leadership.
