Although we have a weak Mayor system, Shakur will be an absolute joke for Mayor. The demographics of Newburgh are drastically changing, and so is the desire for more competent, and reality based leadership. Two qualities Shakur lacks. He is not well versed in matters of government, such as contract negotiations, and departmental functions outside of budget session line item questions brought up in meetings. I say that to say this, the new Newburgh is not feeling the ignorance that spews from his mouth in public settings. Those new voters he has been successful with registering to vote, really don't know of his lacking intellectual capacity. And he has a propensity for violence in his verbal attacks at times, that has been documented. At the appropriate time, all I speak to will be addressed, if he feels inclined to run in 2 years. A lot politically can transpire in that time. Central Hudson dude, if you are a resident, you should run, I appreciate your insight, and dialogue. Godspeed to you and yours this holiday season!!
