Thank you for the clarification on the age issue. Reading about this topic must have tripped something in my social media algorithm, as a post from the Facebook page Urban Updatez landed in my feed, with an article announcing this hire. Um, the comment section is worth perusing. The guy seems almost universally loathed by his former NYPD colleagues. I know bosses aren't always loved because they have to make tough calls, but most cops will at least show some respect. Based on how the commenters described him, it makes perfect sense that Venning would think he's a great fit. Ugh. It sounds like this guy's influence may drive people out.
