I’ve never really understood and no one’s ever explained exactly why Venning not being interested in speaking with the media is a bad thing. He’s not elected and understands that his role is to step out of the way for the electeds to get the praise for projects that they had the vision for and he executes. We very frankly shouldn’t want our city manager talking to anyone but the council and department heads and it’s not his fault if the dumbest citizens in our city took that to mean that some grand conspiracy was happening. That’s not his problem.
