A Mayor in New York State using vile and rude language can be held accountable through several avenues, including complaints to the New York State Commission on Ethics and Lobbying in Government for violating public officer ethical standards, filing a petition for removal with the Governor under Public Officers Law ยง 36, filing a formal complaint with the municipality's ethics board, or initiating a petition drive for a recall if authorized by local law.
