Subject: Sidewalks on South Street

They just completely rebuilt the sidewalks all along South St last year and now Central Hudson has ripped them out for replacement gas lines and replaced them (temporarily one hopes) with macadam. What a complete waste of resources, labor, money and time not to mention the inconvenience and disruption to residents along that street. And South St is controlled (owned?) by the state so we can't even blame the city.(Although we can blame the city for ripping up Downing Park for a shortcut to the mall and ceding control.)
