The Mayor, City Manager, and the council as a whole needs to take a step back. Take a step back, and look at this situation of vilifying a department for the mistakes city government has made. Layoffs of personnel, holding public meetings, and using them as a platform for the sole purpose of misleading the public on information in regards to the lander street fire fatality. It's crazy that all this back and forth about what is clear as day! You cut a department, move the water supply across town, and expect the same service. Absolutely insane, or pure ignorance, either way it is telling of the political and logistical inexperience of this fledgling council. A lot of stupid dreamers in a poor city, trying to sway public sentiment towards a failing government. Newburgh is under a leadership deficit. We've had more grand jury inquiries in this city than any in the Hudson Valley! Shootings, robberies, assaults are on the uptick. But all we hear about is Departmental overtime? Newburgh needs competent help. Hopefully this Hoovler inquiry yields positive results, and not white washing like the Comptroller debacle at the boat launch. Or the CBDG money used to pay waterfront business loans. Money raised for the Dutch reformed church that never made it to it's destination, 10k stolen from the trunk of former councilwoman Angelo after some festival. The "financial anomalies" are overwhelming to say the least. But before I digress, Newburgh is at an inflection point, do we continue with the same blame politics, or do we move in a direction to help ourselves? Vote these bastards out! The council has blood on their hands. This shit wouldn't happen in Town of Newburgh, Cornwall, Marlboro and New Windsor. Know why? Constituents would have stormed those government meetings like capitol rioters. Newburgh needs to stop the BS, get Harvey and whoever else out , who can't be a competent leader. P.S. go back and look at the council meetings leading up to their self voted raises years back! Harvey was a stark proponent for that raise. Those who can see, see him for what he is, a hollow empty shell of a man, who needs to be in the spotlight to feel relevant. I looked at his bio on the city website, he's even on the welcome commercial for the city looking like a Cheshire cat 🐈. He, along with his council has put this city in a precarious situation to say the least with their at hock decision making.
