I understand that you've made an investment in a home and don't want to lose that equity but at a minimum, he could rent an apartment in Newburgh to establish his residence and avoid all of this mess. I don't make nearly what he's taking down and I can comfortably afford a two-bedroom with great amenities.

I think this speaks less to the housing stock in Newburgh, there is plenty considering what he could afford but more to his short term goals of remaining in Newburgh once his contract expries.
