The city spends countless dollars, on frivolous cases it deems important, by the council, and executive office as well. We have corporation counsel who in theory should represent the city in contract negotiations, civil torts, and cases of law concerning the city. But it often defers to outside counsel to handle said legal matters . What needs to be addressed is how much does the city spend on outside legal counsel, that should be handled in-house by corporation counsel. I can tell you it's a lot of money 💰
