So do you think the council is unaware of the Manager's blackout on crime, and control of press releases from dept heads? He is looking for a chief of staff to further insulate himself from public exposure. Our elected officials hired him, and knows exactly what he is doing! Blame the council. Paying these pencil pushers high salaries, meanwhile your public safety depts morale, and working conditions are in the dumps! Low pay, and even lower respect for the jobs these men and women do in a very dangerous city. And on top of that, due to fear of negative press, shootings and other public safety incidents go unreported. The District Attorney, as well as the Fire Chief, acknowledged that this indeed is true. Once again, you can only blame those (city council who laid off 25 first responders 2years ago by the way ) who put that man in that position! Now a damn petition for his ouster?, how about voting out those who allowed this whole debacle to take place! Change the City leadership from those 7 seats!!! Get ya ass out and vote!!! Now I hope it is evident, that low voter turnout, produces the environment, politically, for unstable, and under qualified leaders to make decisions that effectively govern our lives!
