Overview
This department is responsible for administering New York State Civil Service Law for employees of the City of Newburgh, the Newburgh Enlarged City School District, and the Newburgh Housing Authority from the application through the appointment process for all positions in the classified service. In addition, it serves as the Personnel Office for the City of Newburgh and is responsible for employee recruitment, Workers’ Compensation, Employee Assistance Program, organizing employee training as well as various additional personnel functions.
