Wasn't enough firefighters to use that unrecommended, outdated, dangerous rescue procedure. Not being funny, but besides cartoons, and the circus 🎪, when have you seen such a thing? This tragic event, unfortunately happened due to response time. A fire engine had to come from the west end firehouse, to cover the shuttered downtown engine company. And the audacity, if the Mayor, to say wires caused the delay, is absurd. Men lie, women lie, and so does the Mayor. I hope the Benedict family, sues the pants off Newburgh City government, for shutting down an Engine company, in a poor, over populated city. Council trying to save face, for making a decision that took someone's life. We can go back and forth all day on who and what, but truth of the matter is, the city made a critical and deadly decision to close an engine in the heart of the downtown area, and now they have to live with that decision!!!
