During my visit to Newburgh this week, David M. Hoovler Orange County DA and I visited the city’s police substation to support the City of Newburgh Police Department officers on the beat.
It is important to continue to support our law enforcement and respect their commitment, dedication, and bravery. We also visited the site of the heartbreaking fatal fire at 68 Lander Street. The District Attorney and I will continue to advocate that municipalities with paid emergency personnel ensure that they have adequate staffing for all first responders, including police, fire, and EMS, when responding to emergency calls.
We must protect first responders and allow these men and women to perform their job safely.
