overtime
this clown feigns outrage and suggests in 2021 how a fire captain made over 200,000,a firefighter made 170000 when the median income in nbg is around 35,000. oh snap! Sounds a bit crazy right? lets look a bit deeper. the city manager laid off 12 firefighters in the beginning of 2021. Covid ravaged the fire department in 2021 causing significant absences. Those things, coupled with numerous retirements, caused a real increase in overtime. Thats why the overtime was at those levels. But the mayor never mentions this. He just throws out those overtime numbers. He also never mentions how he himself makes 117,000 a year as a teacher, approved a raise for him and the council during the pandemic (where there would be limited to no discussion or question) and approved a 50000 raise to the city manager. yes, that.


Additional manpower

Yes the fire department needs additional manpower. Yes, miss deb would probably still be alive if the fire dept had 10 men there instead of 7. Yes your ass, along with venning and the rest of the council were warned this would happen with staff reductions and you did it anyway. that blood is on you son. no matter how much your fake ass gets indignant, huffs and puffs and bullies city employees for speaking the truth, your elitist hands are red, killer. but lets talk about your disingenuous solution to the manning problem that you and the council cosigned and created--volunteers and "part time" firefighters." Part time firemen--never heard of them. i truly think you made that up. And volunteers? you know thats not going to work in newburgh. Spinelli told you that when you asked him that on video. the two previous chiefs told you the same. you slow? newburgh routinely goes to fight fires in surrounding towns because they cant staff there OWN volunteer departments. the most comparable city in our environs, poughkeepsie, has no volunteers and 13 men per shift. smaller rural cities that have combination departments cant field volunteers and are phasing volunteers out. And the thing about 500 African american mothers signing a petition saying their sons are willing to volunteer in the city of newburgh--you lying, plain and simple.I DARE you to make that so called list public, you race baiting, fake al sharpton (before he got skinny--you definitely are the fat ass version) Lying ass. and about the 6 firemen being vollies where they live? so? they supposed to be scared? put the list out.

Its time for bed. But you know what i just realized? The fire department, the community and the family of the woman who died in that fire went to the city council and pleaded for change so something like 68 lander st would never happen again. The city council, especially harvey and shakur, doubled down in their position. The council did not accept any responsibility in the matter and promised no real change

They really don't give a fuck. Damn.
