Venning, city manager, and lawyer, says going through "files", so many things went wrong, it's hard to say what was the absolute contributing factor in Ms Benedict's death. It was the reduction in manpower. I love how when politicians make life altering decisions, and when they are put to scrutiny for actions resulting in death, blame game starts. Mr Venning in his human heart,is full aware of his and the council's actions to cut staffing in FD, that resulted in a death. ( Should be a homicide) The Mayor talking of cars blocking roadways, overhead obstructions, and even a overtime scam! Everything except taking responsibility for their actions in regards to the death of Ms Benedict. There is blood on their hands, and egg on the face of the council as a whole. There is no spin to this. Only sad truth is stupidity, and lack of foresight on the part of city government, for this debacle of death. Harvey is a grandstanding, carpetbagging poverty pimp, along with Grice, his "fraternity brother" as he refers to him. The real scam is how the teacher's union infiltrated the city council, and now runs the government in executive session, and backdoor dealings. What of what D.A. Hoovler and Orange County Executive Nehaus said of 3.2 million in sales tax to the City? Venning is a master manipulator, and a suppressor of any information that paints the City of Newburgh in a bad light! He's like a parent with Munchausen Syndrome. In this case, the overtime and lies are the catalyst for the fake sickness, he uses to vilify,and justify what he has done to the fire department by way of cuts, leading to this major foul up, resulting in Ms Benedict's death. Shame, shame on Mayor Harvey, for telling the highly inaccurate story of the challenges the FD faced that resulted in Ms Benedict's death. Ask yourself this, how can you not say manpower, and a engine coming from across the city didn't contribute to the horrible incident, that led to Ms Benedict's death? Sorry for the long response, but it is utterly sickening to see so many elected officials lie so much to not face the truth. The decision to reduce manpower resulted in a death of a citizen, point blank!! What savings is that? Especially when the lawsuit is coming.
