What Newburgh needs now is a newly formed group of passionate people willing to do all in their power to hold city government accountable.

Late 90s-early 2000s, the NAGS were always present, with receipts, to demand accountability from elected officials. They took their concerns right to Albany, but the power structure there at the time wasn’t much interested. They took a lot of personal hits, too. Personal attacks, property damage. Real sleazy, creepy, shady claque running things then.

As elections changed government, and the second - or was it the third - renaissance was bust, people moved on as the newly elected were
not AS BAD as the last claque. But crime was off the charts, and there was no peace. People moved away, taking losses on investments but getting out while they could.

There is a similar renaissance happening now, and the folk investing and living here really do need to join together. Hold them accountable. Show up at every work session and Council meeting. Do your dUe diligence; make sure you have all the receipts so they can’t stammer, make shit up & lie their way around the facts.

I remember those days, they were heady and invigorating. I’m not around anymore, but would definitely be organizing if I were. Newburgers, natives and newcomers, unite and hold your government accountable..
