The DPW and Engineer Depts. have been working with the various contractors to update the infrastructure under the roads. They pave as they go along. Why don't the kids have access to a pool? Did they drain the taxpayer funded public school pool or the tax exempt MSM pool? Pop-up vax sights in a blink of an eye, no problem. Crickets. There is a national shortage of paid and volunteer public safety people. All across the country, municipalities are in the process of writing and implimenting legislation with pay, retirement, tax credit incentives to counter the issue. So far to no avail. It's not just a safety personnel shortage. There is a shortage of 'experienced' people crisis in the U.S. and the supply is dwindling....fire/policemen, engineers, geologists, technicians, mechanics, name it. Demographics can be a bitch, more so when extend and pretend is the play. In a couple of decades there will be more people dying than being born in the U.S. (side step...the negative effects of indutrial strength deliberately being off-shored so as to monetize the economy are full face and frontal. Tic toc, times up. What to do. Flip the switch off on the entire economy, stop the velocity of this monetization. 'Click', economy back on, half ass, dazed and confused. Oh crap, inflation IS a monetary phenomenon. Response...Repeat after me, this is not a "recession", it's a necessary period of "transition". Yeah, that's it.) Circling back... while it's bursting at the seams with multi-generational and shared living households, Newburgh inc. is fearmongering bankruptcy. Are you kidding me? Amend the convoluted public servant heirarchy model, it was doable when we were a younger economy. Now...no. The only thing maintaining it is the "legalized extortion" of tax and, moreover, surcharges and fees. Having established a more sustainable cost basis, tweak the revenue model as well. Ditch the old sq.' property tax model. Apply the individual pay as you go "fair share" for municipal services provided. It's the same rational being reasoned for the latest stroke of genius airbnb tax. What's good for goose is good for the gander. The tax base would increase while the per capita tax levy would decrease, initially. Pffft, not going to happen. None of it. What is happening is what's driving the "you'll rent (own nothing) and be happy" mantra. In the meantime, I'll assume the city assigned the two "students" to recreational hydrant duty.
