Subject: PD overtime abuse

The new chief of police and city council apparently have no interest in protecting the taxpayers' money in regards to massive overtime abuses in that department. Several members of the PD have accrued hundreds if not thousands of hours in comp-time, which will come out to hundreds of thousands of dollars when paid out. One former member of the p.d. was protected by members of the council in that they didn't want to go after a war veteran. A simple audit of the payroll office should sort this out. Hopefully, an investigation will be done before the shredding machine wears out.
