Apparently the answer to Oldtimer's question is this: the fire department is definitely being overlooked and will remain in the public safety building "for more of a long term plan than a short term". The mayor rationalized this decision in part as follows, "Our understanding is that where the firehouse is, that end of the building is so much better than the side where the police were."

Perhaps the mold is magically kept away from the fire department's side of the same building via the combined h.v.a.c. system and only is affecting the police side. Maybe the ventilation woes are "not that bad" for the firefighters and just meet out punishment on the police personnel--in the same building.

This particular mayor is no stranger to asinine statements and/or boorish behavior. However, to continue to subject our first responders (pardon me, just SOME of our first responders)to a hazardous workplace represents a dangerous new low.

Can i live? (obligatory jay-z quote, much like the "men lie women lie, numbers dont" in my attempt to remain relevant and hip.)
