We all know how proud I am of Rockstar(HC) & Rockstar I (NC) but I hope you all know how proud I am of all of you. For over 3 decades our family has competed in NETRA events and it has not been until now that the woman of our sport are getting the recognition that you all well deserve. Each and everyone of you represent woman in a male dominated sport,from the way you ride, to your sportsmanship prior, during and after the races. People are watching you when you don't even know it. I can remember a time when the girls class &/or woman's class was used by the men to poke fun at their friends with. You know things like "hey maybe you should go ride the girls class" today you don't hear hardly any of that because so many of you are beating the pants off the guys. Keep up the GREAT job and keep the faith. I have watched many of you grow into true competent and capable off road competitors. But you all need to say thank you right now. SHE MOTOS rocks.................and rocks like there is no tomorrow. This site has brought you into the spotlight on a national level and for that I tip my hat to you Ms webmaster you deserve the utmost respect and appreciation from these girls and all woman in the sport. Date Posted: 11:28:47 05/03/05 Tue Sunday May 1st was the worst racing experience i have ever had in the past 3 years of competeing. I went to a track that i had run at the past 3 years, to hear the words ladies are not allowed to compete, we will not honor your class, and we will not let you run, and we will not refund your money. Not only was i told this, but several other female riders, and the head of our d-6 points. The reasonings that Luke Zechman, the track owner, gave us were: "Ladies increase my insurance, are a waste of time, make the day longer, and i don't have trophies for the class." We told Luke that we were the top 2 riders in our district and that we wanted to run against each other for our points that we were not concerned about prizes, just the fun of competetion. But still we were refused. We finally were allowed to race in men's classes after being given a hard time. I ended up in the men's 25+b class, which i have run before, and Alyssa ended up in the 85cc class, which she runs as a second class. To be bold faced told we can't run, and that he didn't care if AMA reconizes the class was the most humiliating thing i have had to go through. And it is my hope that you will end this discrimination at this track. My family and i refuse to return because we were treated so poorly then by the owners. We will miss the friends their, but this has to stop, all other tracks in our district allow women to run, no matter how many of us there are. And to add to all of this, we had atleast 2 riders trying to register, we were told this wasn't enough to justify a class, but in the men's quad vet class, and the men's bike vet class, there was 1 rider only entered, and they ran the class, and didn't give the men any hassle. This track has long discriminated against not only the ladies, but many other riders, by refusing them the right to ride and race. Please help us. We are also letting the media know who follow our season what has happened, and our sponsors. Lady riders need to join together to end tracks being able to act like this towards us!! PLEASE HELP US! Spread the word, we will gladly reveal the track, but i am sure you will all be able to figure it out, it is also listed on our website. Date Posted: 03:17:50 05/06/05 Fri i have contacted douglas neubauer at ama, also we are emailing the track to let them know they are wrong, as well as our district. following are the sited for the places: district 6 - www.amadistrict6.com then go to contacts. esp joe bromley, he sponsors the races there. the track www.flyingdutchmenmc.net not that we will get very far with them, but the more they know we are unhappy the harder it should impact them. also, i have the info on mxgirls too, we had a ton of contacts on their. tonight i have to call the aclu, they say it falls under legal discrimination, esp since they ran single male rider classes. so frustrating, i only wanted to race for my district points :( thanks tammy [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |

She rides in the provincial and regional hare scramble series (called endurocross here) up here with me. She has a ttr 125L and finished 8th on 30 some, in the regional series, and 10th on 40 some in the provincial series. At one race in particuler the girls class filled up a whole row for the first time. They were about 30, it was quite impressive. Its great because seeing so many just encourages more to want to race, or at least ride. IF she wants maybe i can send a few pics of her to you guys. Well, happy new year, and good luck to you all! I race hairscramble 4 the wnyoa series...(Western New York offroad Association) and iv only been to 1 NETRA race and i was shocked to se a girls class because in the WNYOA series the classes are AJr,ASR, B, C AND C. (and there is no girls racing i am usually the only girl out there and i race the boyz) When i got 2 the race i was planing on racing the boyz class but then again i didnt want 2 race agenst 25 boyz! but i do prety well in the boyz class but i only race agenst 11 or 12 boyz. After the race i regretted racing the girls class because i was flyin past the boyz but i think having a girls class is important because not every girl wants 2 race with the boyz!!!
