- Hot Momma Redhead in the leopard bikini -- Debbie Olin, 15:03:46 04/08/03 Tue (cache-rl02.proxy.aol.com/152.163.189.98)
I remember going to the Seaview yatch club as a little girl. I was 5 and decided to dive into the 6 foot water part of the big pool and just jumped in almost drowned but a teenage girl jumped in a rescued me.
My Mom was a former model., she used to waltz around the yatch club in a long red pony tail ( like Madonna later wore)and a leopard bikini, needless too say she got alot of attention but I was too young to be bothered by it. But years later when Id meet friends parents I often heard, didnt your family belong to The Yatch Club., your Mother was the red head in the Leopard bikini right?, usaually from the fathers! Not that my mother was flashy or trashy, she was just a very striking and well groomed and dressed woman her whole life. The worst part was when dates , and friends that were guys would come to my house, espially if it was the week end and she was all dressed up to go out with my steptfather Charles Kottler ( C.K.Insurance !!). They boys would be totally mesmerized by her and practically ignore me, the most often heard comment I heard was "Thats Your Mother!??!!, I got so sick of it Id say no its my father he likes to wear dresses! One guy was so un nerved by her he walked forward to say hello and stepped into a little trash can and fell face foward!, First and last date with that one.
I also always wondered what a yatch was and when I was told its a boat, I wondered were the boat was. Guess they were just trying to sound chi-chi

Probably one of the best times of my life. Yeah I was the counselor who had to sing in our "Bye Bye Birdie" routine. Still a great summer before I left for teh military.

- HS Reunion 1982 - 1986 -- Canarsie66, 17:22:15 01/10/04 Sat (cache-dl10.proxy.aol.com/205.188.209.46)
Anyone interested in attending a double Canarsie HS/South Shore HS reunion?
The idea is to make it a jumbo reunion for the ultra good-looking and cool classes of 1982 - 1986, as we all have extremely busy lives. (Inclusion of 1981 & up to 1988 is also an option).
Plus, our neighborhood didn't promote the best school spirit, so this way we can guarantee at least 200 - 300 people attending.
Tables can be set up according to HS & graduating year.
Those who didn't graduate CHS or SSHS for whatever reason(but who would have in those years) are also invited.
If interested, let me know via email at Canarsie66@aol.com.
If the response rate is decent, I'll seriously start planning this for a Saturday night, either in January, 2005, or July, 2005.
This way, some of you have some time to lose 20 pounds,
work out, get lipo and hair transplants:-)
This reunion concept depends on the feedback I get.
We'll have it somewhere nice, either in NYC (either a hotel ballroom like the Hilton, Marriott or Sheraton, or a cool lounge-type place like Metronome).
Email me with your thoughts & ideas.
Put "Canarsie Reunion" in the subject line so I don't delete your email.

Committed suicide 1/03. I know that some of the best times of his life took place while he was a kid and a member of the Seaview Pool. Since he was so entertaining (to say the least), everyone has at least one memorable "Ricky moment." I was fortunate enough to have many. Keep playin' the blues my brother...Your soul is tortured no longer..Looking forward to you making me laugh in the next life...

Hi, Everybody,
I have some questions for you about the Seaview Pool and Yacht Club: Where were all the yachts? Where are all the people today who used to dance around the jukebox?
I am looking forward to hearing from you.

- Some Memories of the Seaview Pool -- Ross Tomsky, 14:14:31 07/02/02 Tue (NoHost/64.12.102.36)
So many wonderful memories of the club and its acivities...swimming, water polo, basketball, volleyball, whiffle ball (and "opposites"), daycamp, playing against the Brook, trips on a hot bus to go bowling), hanging out with friends and family, hockey on the sundeck, ping pong, shuffle board, eating in the cafeteria, lime rickeys, the juke box area, paddleball, cards, games, exercice room, shower/sauna, lockers, first "summer" girlfriend etc etc..I know I'm leaving out so many things, but the pool was a great place to be a kid during the summer. Been there since I was born in 1959 until 1975.

We still talk about the days of playing paddleball and newcombe until we almost passed out... And here we are 16 years later...
