While I liked David I think Curt was the better match for Mary Ellen in that she was so strong willed she needed someone who could stand up to her and give as good as she did. I can't imagine Curt giving Mary Ellen pep pills no matter how much she claimed she needed them as David did. I also think it was a mistake to resurrect Curt in The Tempest.
