Subject: Easter with the Waltons and my family

I woke up early this Easter morning unable to sleep. I recently purchased the 5th and 6th seasons of The Waltons and I have been watching them in order and I'm in the 3rd season now. So I started my day with a few episodes of my favorite show of all time. It's such an excellent way to start any day but as I watched on this Easter morning I reflected on past Easters when my children were small and living at home and how much like the Waltons we were and are. I love when the family sings together whether it's "On Top of Old Smokey" or "Amazing Grace" or Christmas carols. The music of the Waltons is fun and uplifting.

I haven't been to church in months because I am disabled. I could go but I pay a heavy price physically if I do so I've decided not to go until I am well, but today my children were singing and also my grandchildren, so I went. I have six children and they are all very talented musically. They can sing and they use their talents often to entertain everyone. The choir was small, only 11 people and 3 of them were my children (my other children live far away) and as I watched and listened I was glad I made the effort to go. They would all make eye contact with me and smile and even though they are grown I could tell that they were so glad that their mommy was there. That was reward enough and then my son's family sang. My son and his lovely wife have 5 children ages 10, 8, 6, 5 and 2 and they had been asked to sing a song called "When He Comes Again". My grandchildren didn't know I was there but as they were singing they saw me and just beamed. It was wonderful!

The Waltons (a family that I love) and my family, yes life is very, very good!

HAPPY EASTER!
